The Beadling Soccer Club is excited to present the 1898 Premier Academy for the ages of U6-U10 boys and girls. The 1898 Premier Academy is directed by Dave Kovalcik and Peter Smith. Peter and Dave are also the creators/directors of the 1898 Pro Elite Training (1898 link). The program incorporates many of the elements of the 1898 Pro Elite Training (fast paced and creative training exercises, top level coaching, age appropriate playing scenarios/environments, and professional/organized environment) and stresses the overall importance of foundational skills development that are vital for short and long term success in the game of soccer.
The 1898 Premier Academy Mission Statement:
The 1898 Premier Academy's ultimate goal is to successfully offer organized coaching excellence, in a highly challenging and rewarding environment to the area's youngest elite players. The 1898 Premier Academy strives to create an elusive balance between coaching high level soccer skills, technique and beginning tactics while incorporating professionalism and confidence for all our participants.
The foundation of the 1898 Premier Academy is vital to the future success of all the participants. The experienced coaching staff of the 1898 Premier Academy has developed a detailed curriculum with a developmental philosophy to help all participants realize their potential in today’s ever changing game.
The objective of the 1898 Premier Academy is to deliver an intensive program that aims to strengthen core skills such as ball control, dribbling, passing, shooting, heading, as well as focusing on creativity, individual expression and decision making in game situations. It is our core belief that young players who are encouraged to express their natural ability and trust in their technique will achieve a greater level of ball mastery. The foundation that is set in the 1898 Premier Academy will greatly increase the future success of all of our players.
1898 Premier Academy Specifics:
Training will take place two times a week during the fall and spring seasons, to go along with local matches on the weekends (only applicable for u9/10’s). Players will be exposed/coached by as many as 6-10 different high quality coaches during each training session. In addition, the 1898 Premier Academy will offer alternate training and playing environments to supplement the development of our players throughout the entire year. Players are placed into “pools” per age group/gender. Within these pools, game day rosters will be fluid from week to week as players will be selected for various games from their “pool” coaches to offer each of our players appropriate development opportunities from a match standpoint. To become a player in the 1898 Premier Academy, players must attend tryouts in the early summer where they will be evaluated and selected for the upcoming fall and spring seasons. Players who do not try out during the main selection process will have to contact Dave Kovalcik for a tryout/evaluation at any point during the year.
